Staying at Anantara Hua Hin Resort & Spa
When traveling to Hua Hin, I stayed at Anantara Hua Hin Resort & Spa for a few days. Below you will find my experience report with information about the facility, the bungalows and the service offered as well as lots of photos.
1Experience report Anantara Hua Hin
Here are my impressions
1.1 Location: the area surrounding the resort
Anantara Hua Hin Resort & Spa is located a few kilometers north of Hua Hin city center. Depending on the traffic, the town center can be reached in five to ten minutes by taxi or by renting a motorbike. In addition, the hotel has set up an hourly shuttle service. The minibus ride costs USD 5 $ per person one way.
Anantara Hua Hin Resort & Spa is directly adjacent to Hua Hin Beach. This is about 10 to 15 meters wide at high tide, but expands significantly at low tide. After about 50 meters there is a sandbank in the water. You can walk for miles in either direction along the shore. Hua Hin is ideal for long walks on the beach.
There are other hotels in the immediate vicinity of the resort. Nevertheless, you never have the feeling that there are too many people on the beach. Most guests sunbathe on the loungers that are set back.
2The room facilities of the Anantara Hua Hin Resort & Spa
The resort has 187 rooms and suites on offer. During my 3 night stay I stayed in a deluxe garden view room.
In addition to the very comfortable bed, the interior includes a small seating area with a sofa, a table with a chair, a flat screen TV, a spacious wardrobe, a minibar with a kettle, coffee machine and fruit basket and a stylishly furnished bathroom.
On the terrace there is a table and two chairs as well as a lounger.
There are a few other categories of accommodation at the resort, such as premium sea view rooms and suites.
My favorite are Club Lagoon Rooms, which face what must be called a “picturesque” lagoon.
3The grounds of Anantara Hua Hin Resort & Spa
The resort struck me as an oasis of calm and beauty. Rarely have I taken so many photos of a hotel complex. That’s because I really like the gardens designed by landscape architect Bill Bensley.
Everything is green and there are cozy seating areas everywhere where you can just relax for a few minutes.
The lagoon, bordered by a small pool, is particularly beautiful.
The spa rooms are also located here.
Another large pool is in close proximity to the beach.
The construction of the houses and the reception also fits into the overall concept.
4Services/Offers
Throughout my stay I found the staff to be very friendly and helpful. Whether it was arranging tours, renting a motorbike or buying a train ticket – I always got the help I was looking for quickly.
Sporting activities are also possible in the resort: for example, you can rent a kayak, play tennis or golf. The resort also has a fitness room. The hotel also has a Kids Club.
During the day you have the opportunity to take part in a cooking class or learn how to carve figures out of fruit or fold elephants out of towels.
The spa offer is to be highlighted. Here I was able to look forward to a first-class massage. The ambience there is already pure relaxation.
5Dining at Anantara Hua Hin Resort & Spa
There are several restaurants and bars available to you on site. These are based on different themes (Thai cuisine, Italian cuisine, etc.).
You sit right by the sea in the Sai Thong Restaurant. Although Sea Food is actually on the menu there, I was given a fantastic vegetarian menu when I asked.
A good start to the day is breakfast at the resort. There is a wide choice and there is a mix of European and Asian dishes.
A special highlight are the waffles.
In the evening, a visit to the bar is worthwhile. And not just because of the cocktails (happy hour until 10 p.m.). The Filipino band, which the resort has signed on permanently, makes really good music and always listens to the wishes of the audience.
6Room Price and Booking
Prices vary widely and it’s worth comparing. What you pay for your room mainly depends on when you book, when you want to be there and which room type you choose. The cheapest offers start at around USD 200 $ per night.
